New Delhi, November 21, 2023 – The Revenue Department of the Ministry of Finance of India announced that, based on the recommendation of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India, it has decided to continue to impose an anti - dumping duty on 4A zeolite for washing purposes originating in or imported from China for a period of 5 years. This measure has a significant impact on 4A zeolite produced in the Peoples Republic of China and reflects Indias continuous stance on international trade protection measures.

This decision is based on the anti - dumping final ruling recommendation issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India on September 14, 2023. The renewed anti - dumping duty rate ranges from 163.90 to 207.72 US dollars per metric ton, and the specific amount depends on different producers and exporters. The duty for Chinalco Zibo International Trade Co., Ltd. (CZITCL) is set at 163.90 US dollars per metric ton, while that for other Chinese producers and exporters is 207.72 US dollars per metric ton.

4A zeolite for washing purposes, mainly used in the detergent industry, belongs to chemical products and is widely used in commercial and household cleaning products. The implementation of this anti - dumping duty involves multiple Indian customs codes, including 38249922, 38249090, 38249990, 28429090, 28269000, 28399090 and 28421000.

India first launched an anti - dumping investigation on 4A zeolite for washing purposes from China on January 2, 2018, upon the application of Gujarat Credo Mineral Industries Ltd and Chemicals India. In October of the same year, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India made a positive final ruling, and subsequently, in December, the Revenue Department of the Ministry of Finance of India decided to impose an anti - dumping duty on the products under investigation.

On September 29, 2022, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India, at the request of the domestic enterprise Gujarat Credo Mineral Industries Limited, launched the first anti - dumping sunset review investigation on this product. On September 14, 2023, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India made a positive final ruling on the first sunset review of this case.
